Pulverizer FAQ 1

Time:2025-03-13

Q1: What are the common types of pulverizer machines?

A1: Grinding disc pulverizer、Blade pulverizer

Q2:What is the working principle of a disc pulverizer?

A2:There is usually a high-speed rotating grinding disc and a fixed grinding disc. During work, plastic materials enter from the feeding port and fall between the rotating grinding disc and the fixed grinding disc. The rotation of the rotating grinding disc will cause the animal material to undergo circular motion, and the material will be subjected to pressure, shear force, and friction force between the two grinding discs during the motion. The surface of the grinding disc usually has special patterns or grooves, which cause the material to be continuously squeezed, ground, and sheared between the two grinding discs. As the grinding disc continues to rotate, the material is gradually crushed into smaller particles, ultimately becoming a powder. Moreover, the gap between the grinding discs is usually adjustable, and by adjusting the size of the gap, the fineness of the discharge can be easily controlled

Q3:What plastics can be ground by a pulverizer?

A3:Most common thermoplastic materials can be ground by a grinding machine. Polyethylene (PE), due to its excellent chemical stability and insulation properties, is widely used in the manufacture of plastic bags, plastic films, and other products. It has a soft texture and is easy to grind; Polypropylene (PP) has high strength and heat resistance, and is commonly used in the production of plastic tableware, automotive parts, etc. It can also be smoothly ground into powder; Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is commonly used for pipes, wire and cable sheaths, etc. It has a certain degree of hardness and flexibility, and is also suitable for grinding. In addition, polystyrene (PS), polycarbonate (PC), and other materials are also within the scope of application of the milling machine. However, different plastics have different characteristics, and the parameters need to be adjusted according to the actual situation when grinding.

Q4:What is the grinding fineness of the room temperature disc pulverizer and how to adjust it?

A4:The grinding fineness range of the powder pulverizer is relatively wide. Generally speaking, ordinary plastic powder mills can reach around 20-120 mesh. The adjustment of grinding fineness is mainly achieved through the following methods. One is to adjust the grinding gap, which can usually be achieved by adjusting the distance between the grinding components inside the grinding machine. The smaller the distance, the finer the powder ground; The second is to change the rotational speed of the blade. The higher the rotational speed, the stronger the impact and shear on the plastic, and the finer the powder ground out; The third is to replace the sieve with different mesh sizes, the larger the mesh size, the finer the powder passing through the sieve; In addition, the feeding speed can be adjusted. The slower the feeding speed, the longer the material stays in the grinding chamber, the more thoroughly it is ground, and the finer the powder. In practical operation, it is often necessary to comprehensively apply these methods and make precise adjustments based on the specific plastic material and the required grinding fineness.

Q5:What material is the blade of the pulverizer and what are its advantages?

A5:The material of the pulverizer machine blade needs to be determined based on the type of plastic being processed.
If dealing with soft plastics such as PE and PP, SKD11 alloy steel is a good choice. This material has high hardness, can effectively cut and crush soft plastics, and has a relatively long service life.
For high hardness materials such as PA and PC, tungsten steel (i.e. hard alloy) is more suitable. Tungsten steel has very strong wear resistance, even when facing plastics with high hardness, it can maintain good cutting performance and reduce blade wear.
When dealing with mixed plastics or materials containing impurities, D2 tool steel is a better choice. It has good impact resistance and can withstand the impact of mixed materials or impurities on the blade, making it less prone to breakage.

Q6:Is the energy consumption of the pulverizer machine high?

A6:The energy consumption of a pulverizer machine is influenced by various factors. Firstly, there is the power of the equipment. The higher the power, the more energy is consumed in the same amount of time; In terms of production, to increase production, it is usually necessary to increase the amount of feed and speed up equipment operation, which can also lead to an increase in energy consumption; The longer the grinding time, the higher the energy consumption naturally. In addition, the type and technological level of the grinding machine also have an impact on energy consumption. Some new energy-saving grinding machines adopt more advanced motors, transmission systems, and energy-saving technologies, which can reduce energy consumption compared to traditional grinding machines. Overall, if operated and configured reasonably, the energy consumption of the grinding machine can be controlled within a certain range.
