Background of Paper Cup recycling

With the large-scale development of the food service and packaging industries, the environmental treatment of cup stock (paper-plastic composite material) waste has become an industry challenge. The paper-plastic hybrid nature makes it difficult to recycle through single-material streams, leading to dual waste of paper fiber and plastic resources, as well as pollution issues from landfilling or incineration. The paper-plastic separation recycling line is a targeted “split-stream material recovery” solution designed to address this pain point, enabling efficient conversion of waste into reusable resources.

Complete Process of the Paper-Plastic Separation Recycling

Double shaft Shredding
Cup stock waste is first fed into a dual-shaft shredder, breaking down large and irregular pieces into uniform small fragments. This increases the material surface area and enhances the efficiency of the subsequent separation process.
Core Separation: Paper-Plastic Separation
The shredded material is conveyed into the paper-plastic separator. Through mechanical friction and screening, the paper fibers and plastic coating are thoroughly separated, yielding two output streams: a “paper pulp mixture” and “plastic fragments.”
Pulp Cleaning → Dewatering → Pressing
The paper pulp mixture first passes through a pulp cleaner to remove impurities and purify the paper fibers.
It then undergoes dewatering to reduce moisture content.
Finally, a pulp press further removes water and forms the pulp into reusable wet pulp, suitable for producing lower-grade packaging paper or paperboard.
Washing Line → Two-stage Pelletizing Line
The separated plastic fragments enter a washing line to remove residual paper fibers and stains, obtaining clean plastic feedstock.
The clean plastic is then fed into a two-stage pelletizing production line, where it is processed into standardized recycled plastic pellets. These pellets can be reused in injection molding or extrusion-based product manufacturing.
Advantages of the Paper-Plastic Separation Recycling machine
The recycling line is systematically connected through specialized equipment to directly convert cup paper waste into two types of industrial raw materials. Its core advantages lie in the fact that the dual axis shredder achieves homogeneous crushing, the paper plastic separator completes high-purity sorting, and the subsequent cleaning, granulation, and dehydration forming equipment respectively produce standard recycled plastic particles and industrial pulp. The entire system uses automated processes to stably convert composite waste that cannot be traditionally recycled into high-purity renewable resources with market value, while simultaneously achieving environmental protection, emission reduction, and resource monetization.
