Industrial Removable Twin Shafts Metal Plastic Shredder Blades And Knife
According to the material of the shredder shredded product, choose the appropriate blade. For rubber, the shredding of the film generally adopts the blade of Cr12mov. For the shredding of wood and plastic, the blade of 55sicr is generally used, shredded scrap, popped flower and flower iron. A blade using H13 is suitable because H13 is a hot work die steel which is a steel formed by adding alloying elements to carbon steel. It has good comprehensive performance at medium temperature, high hardenability and low heat treatment deformation rate, high-temperature resistance, and low deformation. Therefore, it is more suitable for shredding metal products.
Twin Shafts Metal Plastic Shredder Blades And Knife Description:
Twin-Shaft Shredder Blades & Knives — Modular Design
Our modular twin-shaft shredder blade system features a split-type design that allows for rapid single-blade replacement without disassembling the entire shaft. Compared to traditional integral shaft designs, maintenance downtime is reduced by up to 70%, and long-term operating costs are lowered by 40% or more.
Key Design Features:
Spiral staggered arrangement with precision spacers to minimize blade collision and ensure smooth, stable operation
Blade clearance precisely controlled between 0.2–0.3mm, customizable based on material type, hardness, and desired output particle size
Quick-swap hexagonal bore design — no specialized technicians required for blade changes
Applications:
Metal recycling: Scrap steel, aluminum profiles, copper wire, end-of-life appliances
Plastic recovery: PET bottles, films, pipes, rigid plastics
Wood processing: Pallets, branches, MDF boards
Waste management: Tires, e-waste, hazardous material shredding
Blade Material Selection by Industry
Choosing the correct blade material is critical for maximizing lifespan and shredding efficiency. We match materials to your specific application based on the unique demands of each industry.
For plastic recycling, we recommend 42CrMo, W5SiCr, or SKD-11. These materials offer high wear resistance and anti-adhesion properties, making them ideal for processing PE and PP films, PET flakes, and PVC pipes.
For metal shredding, we use 6CrW2Si, Cr12MoV, LD, and H13. H13 hot-work tool steel is particularly well-suited for this application because it offers superior heat resistance and structural stability under high-impact loads. It performs excellently at medium temperatures, features high hardenability, low heat treatment deformation, and maintains its shape even under prolonged stress. This makes it the preferred choice for shredding light scrap steel, aluminum swarf, copper wire, and end-of-life electrical equipment.
For wood processing, we typically recommend 5WsiCr, 6CrW2Si, SKH, SKD-11, or D2. These materials provide a balanced combination of hardness and toughness, which prevents chipping when processing pallets, branches, and particle board.
For rubber and tire shredding, Cr12MoV is the standard choice due to its exceptional abrasion resistance against elastic materials such as tires, rubber sheets, and conveyor belts.
All blades undergo vacuum heat treatment to achieve HRC 55 to 57 hardness, with optional HRC 60 or higher available for extreme-duty applications. When selecting a blade, match the material to your primary feedstock. For high-temperature metal shredding, H13 is strongly recommended. For general plastic and wood applications, Cr12MoV and SKD-11 provide the optimal balance of performance and cost.
Our twin-shaft shredder blades are available with an inner hexagonal bore. The outer circumference typically features three, six, eight, or twelve claws depending on your requirements. The number of claws, combined with the blade clearance and spacer distance, directly determines the final particle size of the shredded material. Standard diameters range from 200mm to 500mm, with thicknesses from 20mm to 55mm. All specifications can be customized according to your specific needs.
