More and more wires and cables, mainly metal wires such as copper and aluminum, are being eliminated due to broken and aging lines, which are highly recyclable. However, many people do not understand why they should recycle old wires and cables. If these copper and aluminum wires can be recycled and then treated accordingly, they will turn waste into treasure and reduce the pollution to the environment. Recycled old wires and cables can be mechanically separated through equipment such as shredders to produce copper scraps, mixtures and plastic fibers, all of which are recyclable materials that can be sold on the market.
Industrial wire and cable shredders can process a wide range of materials, including waste communication wires, automotive wiring, computer cables, telephone lines, USB data cables, household appliance wires, steel strands, miscellaneous wires, copper wire, aluminum wire, iron core lines, and various other types of cables.
As infrastructure ages and technology advances, large quantities of copper and aluminum wires are being decommissioned due to breakage or obsolescence. These metal-rich cables represent a significant recyclable resource. Through proper mechanical processing, discarded wires and cables can be transformed into valuable commodities rather than environmental liabilities.
Our industrial cable shredder is specifically engineered for this purpose. Working in tandem with copper wire granulator systems, this single-shaft shredding equipment efficiently reduces all types of wire and cable materials into uniform pieces, preparing them for downstream separation and recovery. The process yields clean copper granules, plastic fractions, and other recyclable materials — all of which command strong market value. By converting waste into reusable resources, this solution not only delivers economic returns but also significantly reduces environmental impact.
Scrap cable and wire are first shredded into small pieces of material by the shredder and then separated into the copper rice machine. The copper and plastic in the waste cable can be effectively separated.
Industrial Copper Cable Scrap Wire Shredder Working Principle:
Waste cables are loaded into the shredder through the feeding system. Inside the shredding chamber, high-strength alloy steel blades apply tearing, squeezing, and shearing forces to break the material into uniformly sized pieces, which are then discharged through the screen mesh. This continuous and stable process ensures efficient size reduction while preparing the material for subsequent copper-plastic separation. The design emphasizes operational reliability, resource recovery efficiency, and environmental compliance — providing robust support for sustainable waste cable management.
Pusher System
Reinforced baseplate can reduce the impact caused by material entering the cutting chamber. A dust collection device is equipped at the bottom of the pusher system to guarantee the long-term stable performance of internal components.
V-cutting rotor design

Wear Resistant
Tungsten surface coating for abrasive applications
Electronic Control
Simply press the buttons on the control panel to control every movement, and “auto mode” can be selected on the control panel for fully automatic operation
Screen Unit
Wide range of screens with a variety of configurations and mesh sizes are replaceable based on customers’ production requirements. The paper shredder will automatically stop while opening the screen unit to ensure operator safety. The screen is produced and mounted in sections, allow for easy maintenance.
PLC control
Making it easier for fault diagnosis and maintenance
Hydraulic Station
The pressure and rate of flow can be adjusted according to different materials.
The industrial copper cable scrap shredder offers the following core features: a combination frame constructed from ultra-thick precision-machined sheet metal, paired with a large-diameter hopper and a heavy-duty hexagonal power shaft tilted at an optimized angle for efficient processing of large materials. The PLC intelligent control system integrates automatic overload protection and reverse rotation functions to ensure safe and stable operation. An innovative hydraulic pusher system significantly improves the efficiency of processing lightweight materials. The rotor knives feature a four-edge design, allowing 90° rotation for reuse after wear, while the fixed knives adopt a double-edge configuration that can be rotated 180° — substantially reducing maintenance costs. Low-speed operation ensures quiet performance, and screen aperture can be flexibly adjusted based on material characteristics. Equipment specifications can also be customized according to processing capacity and material type, delivering high efficiency, durability, and personalized adaptation.
