Status of recycling:

The current status of recycling of waste rubber hoses and garden hoses is that the recycling rate is still low. Although the recycling market of waste rubber has developed rapidly with the improvement of environmental awareness and government support for environmental protection industrial policies, most of the waste rubber hoses and garden hoses are still directly discarded or incinerated, which causes serious pollution to the environment.


Rubber hose mainly consists of an inner rubber layer, a steel wire braid and an outer rubber layer. The inner and outer rubber layers of this hose are usually made of rubber material, while the steel wire braid in the center provides additional strength and durability. Rubber hoses are suitable for transporting various hydraulic fluids such as fuel and lubricants.

Garden hose, especially PVC garden hose, usually consists of a three-layer construction. The inner layer is soft PVC, the reinforcing layer is reinforced with high-strength synthetic fiber wraps, and the outer layer is soft PVC.This hose has excellent abrasion resistance, UV resistance, and can be used over a wide range of temperatures.

Advantages of mechanical recycling:

The use of machinery to recycle rubber hoses and garden hoses has significant environmental, economic and technical advantages. From an environmental point of view, this recycling method can effectively conserve rubber resources while reducing the environmental pollution caused by landfills and incineration. Considering the economic aspect, mechanical recycling reduces production costs, reduces the cost of using new materials by utilizing recycled rubber as raw materials, and promotes the development of the recycling industry, creating more job opportunities. On the technical side, mechanical recycling demonstrates efficiency and flexibility to process large quantities of used hoses quickly and adapt to the recycling needs of different sizes and types of hoses.

Mechanical Recycling Process:

Cleaning: Use water or detergent to remove dirt, grease and other residues on the surface of the hose to improve the efficiency and quality of subsequent treatment.
Emptying: If there is residual liquid or gas inside the hose, it needs to be emptied first to avoid pollution or safety hazards during processing.
Shredding: Use a shredder to shred the hose initially and cut it into smaller pieces. The number of blades and speed of the shredder can be adjusted according to the material and hardness of the hose.
Crushing: The shredded pieces are put into the crusher for further crushing to make them into smaller particles or powder. The crushing chamber, screen and other components of the crusher also need to be selected and designed according to the material of the hose and particle size requirements.
Screening: Use vibrating screen, tumbler screen and other equipment to screen the crushed particles to remove the impurities and particles that do not meet the requirements.
Separation: Use magnetic separator, electrostatic separator and other equipment to further remove metal, plastic and other impurities, and improve the purity of recycled rubber.
Cleaning: clean the screened rubber particles to remove residual impurities and pollutants.
Drying: Use drying equipment to dry the cleaned rubber granules to reduce their moisture content and improve their stability and storability.
Briquetting: according to the need, the dried rubber granules can be briquetted for easy storage and transportation.
