Foam waste becomes treasure: professional crushing and grinding scheme
Time:2025-09-04
Background Introduction
With the enhancement of global environmental awareness and the progress of resource recycling technology, the recycling of foamed plastics (such as EPS, PU, EPE, etc.) has become an important topic in the field of recycling economy. As the core link of this industrial chain, the foam crushing and grinding production line converts waste foam into high value-added renewable materials through efficient crushing, fine grinding and environmental protection treatment, providing dual value for industrial production and environmental protection.
Process flow
Preprocessing and Crushing
Waste foam materials (such as packaging boxes, buffer materials, building insulation boards) are first manually sorted to remove impurities such as metals and fabrics. Subsequently, the conveyor belt stably transports the material to the rocker arm single axis shredder. The equipment preliminarily crushes large pieces of foam material into smaller pieces (usually 50-200mm) through high-speed rotating blades, reducing the difficulty of subsequent processing. The shredded materials are stored in the buffer bin temporarily to balance the production pace.
Magnetic Separation and Sorting
The materials in the cache bin are transported to the crusher through a conveyor belt and further crushed into small particles (20-50mm). Subsequently, the material enters the metal separator and residual ferromagnetic substances (such as screws and iron filings) are removed by a strong magnetic field. Then, the foam separation device uses wind or vibrating screen to separate different types of foam (such as EPS and PU) according to the density difference to ensure the purity of raw materials.
Grinding and refinement
The sorted foam particles enter the automatic plastic grinder, and the particles are refined to powder shape (particle size is usually 0.1-3mm) through high-speed shearing and friction of the grinding plate or blade. During the grinding process, the chiller controls the temperature of the equipment through circulating cooling water to prevent foam from melting due to heat generated by friction.
Dust removal and environmental protection treatment
The production line is equipped with a pulse dust collector, which uses high-pressure pulse blowing to clean the dust and collect the dust generated during the crushing and grinding process in real time, ensuring that the emissions meet environmental standards. Some high-end equipment also adopts negative pressure conveying technology to reduce dust diffusion.
Advantage
The foam crushing and grinding production line efficiently converts waste foam into high-purity recycled powder through the fine closed-loop process of “shredding crushing sorting grinding”. Its core technology relies on metal separation (purity ≥ 99%), precise sorting, and closed-loop dust removal and temperature control system to ensure efficient and environmentally friendly production throughout the entire process. This practice not only empowers the circular economy and creates green employment, but also brings significant benefits: environmentally, each ton of recycling can achieve a carbon reduction of 1.8 tons and a fuel saving of 1.5 tons; Economically, the production cost of recycled powder is only 30% -50% of that of raw materials, which is highly cost-effective and widely used in fields such as building materials and plastic products.
