A copper wire granulator recycles scrap wire and cable into separated copper and plastic fractions using a fully dry physical process — no water, no chemicals, no emissions. The system crushes, sizes, and air-separates material to recover saleable metal and plastic.
How It Works
1.Primary crushing — Scrap wire is fed into a first-stage crusher, reducing it to approximately 10 mm pieces
2.Secondary crushing — A second crusher further reduces the mixture to 3–5 mm, liberating copper from insulation
3.Air separation — An air classifier separates dense copper from light plastic based on weight and aerodynamic properties
The result: clean copper granules and plastic chips with a separation rate up to 99.8%.
Key Features
PLC control — Electric control cabinet with intuitive interface for easy operation
Low noise, high capacity — Reliable design for continuous industrial use
Two-stage crushing — Double crushing improves copper liberation and final purity
99.9% copper recovery — High separation efficiency from scrap wires and cables
Dedicated conveyors — Separate delivery systems for copper and plastic streams improve plant efficiency
Serviceable blades — Crusher blades are removable for sharpening or replacement, minimizing downtime
Zero pollution — Dry physical process produces no dust or wastewater
Why Copper Wire Recycling Is Growing
Copper retains high scrap value, and the plastic insulation is also recoverable. Industries generating waste wire include automotive electrical, motorcycle wiring, computer and telecommunications cables, and building demolition. As environmental regulations tighten and virgin copper prices rise, demand for efficient recycling equipment continues to expand. A copper wire granulator turns this waste stream into two revenue products while eliminating landfill disposal.
